Remix / New Song

All of my songs are on the site now plus (!) a completely new one. 'Meet me by the orange' and 'this city' got some remixing done so I think they sound appreciably better.

I'm wondering about distributing this stuff... I feel guilty charging, and on top of that I give it away on the 'net. Now the question is, do I want to make money doing this? Yes. I need to be known to do that. So I guess it can be termed as an 'investment' to be recouped though playing live. If I can get a gig, that is.

Btw, don't use .mac. It works ok, but there are other, slightly more expensive hosting solutions that are soooo much better in so many ways (like using FTP instead of webDAV, more space, don't have to use shitty apple templates... the list goes on). I already spent my 100 bucks so I guess there's no going back.

The best thing about having my music online if that it makes it easy to get a decent estimate as to how many people have listened to your work.

New Stuff

Put songs with fresh mixes back on the site. Playing around with facebook lately. Dammit I should be working but I can't bring myself to do it.

Orientation went well. I have to admit my amazement at how many people are 'good friends with Alastair'. Amazing. 21 days till move in.

I'm getting rid of 'this city'. I think I'll keep it on the site, but I'm re-recording an older one and putting that on the cd. So the cd probably end up being somwhere around 20 minutes long (4 songs).

I haven't written here for sometime. Honestly, it has a lot to do with boredom.

Site Update

Put the new song on the site... and removed two of them. Not to be too capitalist but I'm going to try to sell some cds at some point. Also have new lyrics and pictures.

In other news, 'meet me by the orange' needs bass, mixing, and then it's ready! Had a scare with the imic. Please only buy an imic if you are desperate like me and 1)your comp doesn't have a mic in and 2)You cant afford anything else.

With GarageBand and all, you'd think that Apple would've kept the mic input on the ibooks.....

New song and site update

I am certainly proud to announce that I've completed another song. It's available, as usual, on my site. I also posted some new pictures, as I know the internet just CAN'T get enough of me.

Went to the PR fest with Becky... it was pretty nice, especially some greasy empanadilla and pina colada. I guess I'll be working that off tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, I may have to part with my buddy for a week. I'm taking the 'book to my local Mac store to see why my combo drive sounds like death. The prospect of having an unfinished song pissed me off enough to push and finish the third song. Now I just need to wait for stuffit to compress the file so I can back it up (just in case :)).

But that's it. I'm tired, and waking up tomorrow will probably suck.
It's usually worth it.
